After a string of eight wins, Verrado's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the Canyon View Jaguars, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Vipers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Verrado got a good showing from Nico Doyen, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Doyen has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Verrado's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-6-1. As for Canyon View, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

While Verrado had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
