Baseball Recap: Jackson Find Success

Jackson proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Central Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Fighting Indians have posted since March 23rd.

Carter Shipman looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jackson let Adler Flinn and Dawson Eftink run wild. Flinn went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Eftink went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those two doubles gave Flinn a new career-high.

Jackson pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Jackson will take on Nixa at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will square off against Sikeston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
