Baseball Recap: Estherville Lincoln Central Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Estherville Lincoln Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Forest City Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Midgets have posted since June 24th.

Estherville Lincoln Central pushed their record up to 18-9 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Forest City, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

Looking ahead, Estherville Lincoln Central will take on Unity Christian on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Midgets surely won't give up without a fight. Forest City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
