Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph Academy Crusaders vs. San Pasqual Golden Eagles

The St. Joseph Academy Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the San Pasqual Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Pasqual took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Joseph Academy, who comes in off a win.

If San Pasqual heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when St. Joseph Academy took over last week. St. Joseph Academy came out on top against Grossmont by a score of 56-44 on Saturday.

St. Joseph Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brewster Gale, who posted 13 points. Dominic Gale was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Meanwhile, San Pasqual played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Maranatha Christian, falling 67-41. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1155th, while the Eagles are ranked 389th).

San Pasqual's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for St. Joseph Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

St. Joseph Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against San Pasqual in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win.
