Baseball Recap: South Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

South took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Mayfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Rebels: when they faced off against the Wildcats last Monday, they had to take a 7-1 defeat.

South's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Mayfield, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, South will be playing at home against Independence at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mayfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Avon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
