Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Marshall faced off against Paris on Friday. The Marshall Lions received a blow as they fell 66-49 to the Paris Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Tigers are ranked 77th).

This is the second loss in a row for Marshall and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Paris, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.

Looking ahead, Marshall will host Edwards County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Paris, they will challenge Mattoon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
