Jasper strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 48-13 victory over the Decatur Red Raiders. With the Vikings ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Lincoln Smothers had a dynamite game, rushing for 224 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 158 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Those 224 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jasper also got help from Brodey Garrett, who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jasper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 406 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Decatur only rushed for 88 rushing yards.

Jasper didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kortez Samuels and Jaylen McCollum.

Jasper's record now sits at 3-0. As for Decatur, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
