Baseball Recap: Ashland Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ashland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bellingham Blackhawks 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Clockers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jared Grunbaum tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ashland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin O'Brien, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI O'Brien has posted since back in May of 2024. Cowern Aiden also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Ashland's record is now 6-7. As for Bellingham, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Ashland has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 win against Norton on the 5th. As for Bellingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Hopkinton on the 7th.
