Baseball Recap: Clarkrange Buffaloes vs. Pickett County Bobcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against York Institute, Clarkrange was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pickett County Bobcats a 10-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Buffaloes needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Mason McWhirter made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
