Judge Memorial Catholic hasn't had much luck against American Leadership Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Eagles at 1:30 p.m. Judge Memorial Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Judge Memorial Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Ogden and fell 10-9.
Aidan Dorn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeter Soto, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
American Leadership Academy not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27, 2024 (when they won 17-6). They put the hurt on Summit Academy with a sharp 17-7 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Justus Brost made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gaige Morgan and Mason Bullock did most of the damage at the plate: Morgan got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Bullock got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave Morgan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Memphis Butler, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
American Leadership Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit Academy only posted a batting average of .312.
Judge Memorial Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for American Leadership Academy, their record is now 7-16.
Everything went Judge Memorial Catholic's way against American Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in March, as Judge Memorial Catholic made off with a 15-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
