Basketball Recap: Miles Perry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Veritas Prep over Marana

Veritas Prep has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. 2025 welcomed they with a 66-42 loss courtesy of the Marana Tigers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since February 6, 2024.

Veritas Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Perry, who posted ten points. Baylor Arnold was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Veritas Prep's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Marana, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
