Soccer Recap: Jackson Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Oakville

Jackson proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by four) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Oakville Tigers get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Jackson's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Oakville are ranked sixth).

Jackson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those seven matches. As for Oakville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 12-2-1 record.

Coming up, Jackson will take on Saxony Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakville, they will face off against Vianney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
