Basketball Game Preview: Latexo Tigers vs. Normangee Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Latexo Tigers take on the Normangee Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday... Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, Latexo took a blow against Lovelady, falling 53-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1089th, while the Lions are ranked 318th).

Meanwhile, Normangee had to suffer through a 58-13 loss at the hands of Lovelady. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Normangee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Latexo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.

Latexo strolled past Normangee in their previous meeting on January 7th by a score of 49-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Latexo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
