Volleyball Recap: Springfield Catholic Comes Up Short

Springfield Catholic extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-12. They fell 2-0 to the Central Bulldogs. The Fighting Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Central, their record now sits at 3-9-3. The game was the first time they have beaten Springfield Catholic on their court since September 11, 2018.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anges Werner-Click, who had 21 assists and seven digs. That's the most digs Werner-Click has posted over her last five matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Annalise Freeman, who had 16 digs.

Springfield Catholic has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lockwood on the 27th. Central has also already played their next matchup (against Osceola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
