Basketball Recap: East College Prep Falls Short of New West Charter in the Playoffs

East College Prep and New West Charter squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but East College Prep had to settle for second. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New West Charter Eagles.

New West Charter was led to victory by Liam Hakimi and Lior Einhorn. Hakimi went 10-for-24 on his way to 29 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Einhorn went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and six boards. Hakimi's afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

East College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for New West Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

East College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New West Charter, they will take on University Prep Value at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. New West Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
