St. Anthony and St. Mary pushed the score to 23-0 the last time they played St. Mary's, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Friars never let the Gaels get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Friars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

St. Anthony's got a great performance from Lucas Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. Miller also put up two walks, which were his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Vaccariello was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Vaccariello was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

St. Anthony's record is now 8-2. As for St. Mary's, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anthony's will venture away from home to square off against St. Francis Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Mary's, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaminade at 4:15 p.m. on the 29th.
