Baseball Recap: Doherty Memorial Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Doherty Memorial hadn't done well against St. Paul recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Highlanders walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Knights. The win was nothing new for the Highlanders as they're now sitting on three straight.

Aiden O'Connor was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Ayron Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Doherty Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Doherty Memorial's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Doherty Memorial will host Shrewsbury at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Paul, they will square off against Tantasqua Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
