Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middie Bears vs. Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks

Middletown is 1-9 against Newburgh Free Academy since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Middletown Middie Bears will head out on the road to take on the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Middletown is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Pine Bush.

Meanwhile, Newburgh Free Academy came up short against North Rockland on Monday and fell 57-47. The loss was the Goldbacks' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newburgh Free Academy fell to 2-1. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Middletown took a serious blow against Newburgh Free Academy in their previous meeting back in February, falling 74-42. Can Middletown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
