Baseball Recap: North Myrtle Beach Triumphs

North Myrtle Beach took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against St. James, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chiefs had just enough and edged out the Sharks 3-2 on Wednesday.

North Myrtle Beach got a great performance from Gabe Priest as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Priest has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North Myrtle Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Mitchetti, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

North Myrtle Beach's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for St. James, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

North Myrtle Beach will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sharks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
