Soccer Game Preview: Sharpstown vs. Randle

The Sharpstown Apollos will square off against the Randle Lions at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Randle took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sharpstown, who comes in off a win.

Randle will be up against a hot Sharpstown team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Sharpstown's way against Austin last Saturday as Sharpstown made off with a 6-1 victory. Six seems to be a good number for the Apollos as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Randle unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 3-0 to Alief Elsik. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Rams are ranked eighth).

Sharpstown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Randle, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2.
