Basketball Game Preview: Gordo Green Wave vs. Pickens County Tornadoes

The Gordo Green Wave just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Pickens County Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gordo will head into Thursday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 51-24 loss at the hands of Fayette County. The contest marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pickens County is still winless after their matchup against Gordo on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Green Wave. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tornadoes have suffered since January 22nd.

Pickens County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Gordo, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
