Football Recap: Shelby-Rising City Piles Up the Points Against East Butler

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby-Rising City). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the East Butler Tigers 66-0. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Shelby-Rising City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Lindsley led the charge by rushing for 33 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes. That's the most passing yards Lindsley has posted since back in September of 2024. Dayne Neujahr was another major influence, as he rushed for 55 yards and ran in a TD.

Shelby-Rising City's record is now 5-0. As for East Butler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby-Rising City will face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for East Butler, they will be playing at home against Mead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
