Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Extends Winning Streak to Three

Oak Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys as they made off with a 9-2 win. Considering the Grizzlies have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Everhart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Hart, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cam Sharpe was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two triples and one RBI.

Oak Grove lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwest Guilford didn't launched any home runs.

Oak Grove's record now sits at 6-4. As for Southwest Guilford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will welcome Asheboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove is facing Asheboro at the right time seeing as Asheboro is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Southwest Guilford, they will be playing at home against Northern Guilford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Guilford is on a four-game streak of home wins, Northern Guilford a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
