Baseball Recap: Steamboat Springs Comes Up Short

Steamboat Springs and Summit pushed the score to 21-6 the last time they played Summit, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Sailors fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-6 on Friday.

Steamboat Springs has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Summit, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steamboat Springs will take on Meeker at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summit, they will host Longmont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
