In the history of high school football, a quarterback has completed 42 or more passes in a game just 65 times, according to statistics compiled by MaxPreps.

Last week, Alex Huston of Glendale (Springfield, Mo.) completed 47 of 70 passes for a national-best 581 yards in a 40-20 win over Kickapoo. It marks the sixth time in his two-year career (which spans just 16 games) that Huston has completed 42 or more passes. Only one player has done it three times, and that was Huston's predecessor at Glendale, Alex Austin.

Huston's performance highlights this week's national high school football stat stars. Among the other highlights:

- Braxton Ashcraft of Robinson caught six touchdown passes in a 61-36 win over Athens.

- Quinn Commans of Whittier Christian threw for nine touchdown passes in a 68-55 win over Bell. The total is one short of the state record of 10.

- The quarterbacks for Sinton and Jones combined for 958 yards and 12 touchdowns in a 55-45 Sinton victory.
