Volleyball Recap: Bellflower Buccaneers vs. South Pasadena Tigers

Bellflower lost against South Pasadena back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bellflower Buccaneers fell just short of the South Pasadena Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellflower actually scored more points across those five sets (100-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 13-25, 15-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Geovanny Sanchez paced Bellflower's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sanchez got some help from Aydan Flores and his 33 assists. Flores also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Kaleb Nunez, racking up four apiece.

Bellflower's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for South Pasadena, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Bellflower wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against California Academy of Math & Science on the 6th. As for South Pasadena, they will host Flintridge Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games South Pasadena has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
