Basketball Recap: Waterloo East Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fort Dodge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waterloo East). They strolled past the Fort Dodge Dodgers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 72-57. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Waterloo East has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Fort Dodge, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Waterloo East and Fort Dodge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. Waterloo East will square off against Ames at 7:45 p.m. on Friday down 110 places (124 vs. 14). Similarly, Fort Dodge (ranked 292nd) will meet Mason City (ranked 109th) at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
