Football Recap: Lakeview Takes a Loss

Lakeview scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were outmatched by the DeQuincy Tigers and fell 39-8. The Gators lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-0 score last time.

A big part of DeQuincy's victory came down to the chemistry between Grant Rainwater and his top target Turner Rodriguez. Rainwater threw for 164 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Rodriguez gained 60 total yards and two touchdowns. Rodriguez also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making one tackle (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for DeQuincy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Lakeview has already played their next matchup, a 61-0 defeat against Avoyelles on the 3rd. As for DeQuincy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 28-19 loss against Grand Lake on the 2nd.
