Basketball Recap: Patuxent Takes a Loss

Patuxent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 67-29 loss at the hands of the Thomas Stone Cougars. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 84-56 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Patuxent lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shane Lawrence, who posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

Kaden Jackson had a dynamite game for Thomas Stone, going 6-for-11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Tyler Johnson was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Patuxent's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Thomas Stone, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17.

Patuxent wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-45 loss against McDonough on the 24th. As for Thomas Stone, they will take on Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th.
