Softball Recap: Bethel Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Bethel Christian took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Fontana, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Kings had just enough and edged out the Steelers 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Kings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Maliyah Jarrett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Finlee Milhouse was excellent, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Bethel Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Fontana, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian will welcome Norton Science & Language Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fontana, they will be playing at home against Notre Dame at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Steelers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
