Volleyball Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Charleston Trojans
Richland County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Charleston Trojans. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Saturday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-19.
Kaitlyn Dowty paced Richland County's offense, picking up four kills. Dowty got some help from
Taylor Bloomer and her five assists. Bloomer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Charleston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlotte Wilkerson out in front who had six aces and five digs. That's the most aces Wilkerson has posted since back in September of 2023. Avery Beals was another key player, getting ten digs.
Richland County's loss dropped their record down to 3-32. As for Charleston, their victory bumped their record up to 11-19.
Richland County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Charleston has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Salem on the 29th.
