Baseball Recap: Rio Americano Raiders vs. Del Campo Cougars        
        
		
            
 After a string of three wins, Rio Americano's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They fell just short of the Del Campo Cougars by a score of  6-4. Rio Americano was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Del Campo apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  last Wednesday.
  Chet Heim was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Mac Hausman and  Jt Alberghini stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Hausman  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances, while  Alberghini  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. Hausman has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times he's  played.  Lincoln Dorway was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Rio Americano  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Campo only tossed four.
 On Del Campo's side, they got a great performance from  Logan Smith as he  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits.
 On the hitting side, Del Campo saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Mitchell Clements, who  went 3-for-4 with a  stolen base, two  RBI,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Joey Pine, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 Rio Americano's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Del Campo,  the  victory  got them back to even at 12-12.
 Rio Americano will head out on the road to  square off against  Sacramento at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Rio Americano is facing Sacramento at the right time seeing as Sacramento is stuck on  a  12-game losing streak. As for Del Campo, they will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Vanden at 1:00  p.m. Vanden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3  runs per game  this season.
