Recap: Master's Academy Patriots vs. Tradition Prep Pirates
The Master's Academy Patriots lost against the Tradition Prep Pirates on January 8th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Master's Academy falling 49-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Tradition Prep: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Master's Academy saw an underclassman step up: Gianna Guggeri dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guggeri has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jalicia Treichler, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Master's Academy dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tradition Prep, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Master's Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 654th, while Master's Academy is ranked 659th). As for Tradition Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Coral Springs Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coral Springs Charter will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
