Baseball Game Preview: Peebles Indians vs. Eastern Warriors

Peebles hasn't had much luck against Eastern recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Indians will host the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Peebles came up short against Fairfield and fell 11-7.

Bradley Shoemaker put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brandon Rayburn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Garrett Shiveley was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Eastern came up short against Miami Trace on Wednesday, falling 11-5. The loss put an end to the Warriors' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eastern fell to 2-1. As for Peebles, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Peebles suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Eastern when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
