Baseball Game Preview: Terra Linda Trojans vs. Marin Catholic Wildcats

Terra Linda hasn't had much luck against Marin Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Terra Linda Trojans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Marin Catholic Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Terra Linda will bounce into Friday's match after beating Piner, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Terra Linda came out on top against Piner by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Oliver Doxon, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Hayden Biesiadecki was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Marin Catholic put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Terra Linda a 1-0 shutout.

Jack McGovern looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Marin Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Valla, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Marin Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Linda struck out 14 times.

Marin Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.75 runs across that stretch. As for Terra Linda, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
