Recap: Bourne Canalmen vs. Hopedale Blue Raiders
The Bourne Canalmen put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Hopedale on the road to the tune of 71-42. Considering Bourne has won three games by more than 26 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
When it comes to explaining why Hopedale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Patrick Madden. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. The game was Madden's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Robbie Manning, who scored six points.
Bourne's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Hopedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Bourne will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bellingham at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Bellingham will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Bourne is ranked 12th).
