Zapata extends road losing streak to eight

Recap: Zapata Hawks vs. Economedes Jaguars
This season hasn't been kind to the Zapata Hawks, who are still winless after their 11th match. They took a hard 38-21 fall against Economedes on Saturday. Zapata was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Economedes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Nathaniel De La Garza was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals for Economedes. The contest was De La Garza's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Jesse Carreon was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Zapata bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Economedes, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zapata will face off against Jubilee Brownsville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jubilee Brownsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday. As for Economedes, they will head out on the road to face off against San Perlita at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Perlita is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
