Volleyball Recap: Frankfort Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Grace Myers and Jalen Smith

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Frankfort and Rossville, and Rossville kept the tradition alive. The Hot Dogs fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. If the Hot Dogs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Frankfort actually scored more points across those five sets (106-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Frankfort's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jalen Smith, who hit 60% for six kills and 47 assists and 20 digs, and Grace Myers, who had six digs and two aces. Smith is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Frankfort and Rossville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hot Dogs are set to challenge their familiar foe Southmont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rossville will take on rival Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
