Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Conrad

The Lincoln Tigers will head out to take on the Conrad Chargers at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Lincoln's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Madison 7-0. It was an even better day for Merci Mateso as he scored three goals for his team.

Lincoln's lineup was just a bit different on Saturday as Mateso got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 59). Mateso made the most of the opportunity, scoring three goals A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Conrad won against Madison on Wednesday with eight goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Saturday. Everything went Conrad's way against Inspired Vision as Conrad made off with an 8-0 win. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by three goals or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Conrad and bumps their season record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Lincoln suffered a grim 7-2 defeat to Conrad when the teams last played back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lincoln was down 3-0.
