The Thomas Nelson Generals will square off against the Fort Knox Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Thomas Nelson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Nelson County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Generals fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Generals have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Rylen Keith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Thomas Nelson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Girdley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Girdley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Fort Knox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 5-1 to Bardstown.
Fort Knox also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Eli Ortega gave up five runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits.
Fort Knox's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Thomas Nelson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
Fort Knox's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Thomas Nelson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Fort Knox, though, as they've only averaged .242. Will they be able to contain Thomas Nelson's hitters?
