Recap: Holtville Bulldogs vs. Headland Rams
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Holtville Bulldogs can now relate to. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Headland on Friday.
Although Holtville took the loss, they still got scores from Elijah Headley, Keiland Baker, and Daishaun Zeigler.
Jaxon Williams had a dynamite game for Headland, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 110 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Headland's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by PAIT GRANT and CALEB DOZIER who racked up four sacks between them.
Holtville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for Headland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Holtville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Headland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th.
