 Goldsboro was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They fell just short of the Eastern Wayne Warriors by a score of  3-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Goldsboro of the  15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
 Goldsboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Taylor Howell, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On Eastern Wayne's side,  Mallory Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. Reed has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Natalia Pierce, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lilly Ruiz, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with.
 Goldsboro's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Eastern Wayne, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
