Volleyball Recap: Sterling Jets vs. Lewiston Tigers

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Lewiston Tigers by a score of 2-1. While the Jets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-14 in the first set.

Sterling started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-18, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Sterling saw an underclassman step up: Braylee Houghton had 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Houghton.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Lewiston, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-19.

Sterling will challenge Elmwood-Murdock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewiston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
