Basketball Recap: Riverside-Durham Comes Up Short

Riverside-Durham easily dispatched Durham School of the Arts last Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Riverside-Durham Pirates fell just short of the Western Alamance Warriors by a score of 40-38 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Warriors are ranked 173rd).

Despite the loss, Riverside-Durham still got an impressive performance from Noam Cohen, who posted seven points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Savage, who put up three points.

Riverside-Durham's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Western Alamance, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Riverside-Durham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 defeat against Person on the 17th. As for Western Alamance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 51-34 loss against Bishop McGuinness on the 14th.
