Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Madonna Hawks vs. Soquel Knights

The Mt. Madonna Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Soquel Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Madonna has now lost seven straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 13.

Mt. Madonna lost 3-0 to Harbor on Wednesday.

While Mt. Madonna was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Harbor's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, everything went Soquel's way against Scotts Valley on Tuesday as Soquel made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

While Soquel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-23.

Soquel's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mt. Madonna, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Mt. Madonna couldn't quite get it done against Soquel in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Mt. Madonna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
