Basketball Recap: Juanita Comes Up Short

Juanita lost against Woodinville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Juanita Ravens lost 61-35 to the Woodinville Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Falcons are ranked second).

Woodinville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kamryn Wille led the charge by going 5 for 9 to rack up 14 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Wille a new career-high in assists (four). Jazlyn Wilkerson was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Juanita has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Woodinville, their victory was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juanita will welcome Hazen on Tuesday. Juanita is facing Hazen at the right time seeing as Hazen is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Woodinville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bothell/Inglemoor at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodinville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bothell/Inglemoor likes a good challenge.
