Lafayette Jefferson took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against West Lafayette, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bronchos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Red Devils on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Bronchos sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leyton Corbin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Corbin wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Armstrong, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Armstrong has posted since back in April.

Lafayette Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for West Lafayette, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Lafayette Jefferson will host Richmond at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Lafayette, they will challenge Merrillville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
