Recap: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Lincoln Southeast Knights
After a string of five wins, the Omaha Westside Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 58-51 to Lincoln Southeast. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Omaha Westside has scored all season.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Stubblefield, who scored 18 points. The contest was Stubblefield's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Rickey Loftin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Lincoln Southeast's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taye Moore, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jake Hilkemann, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Omaha Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Lincoln Southeast, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha Westside will be home for the holidays to greet Bellevue West at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bellevue West's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Lincoln Southeast will be home for the holidays to greet Columbus at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
