Baseball Recap: Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

Central got themselves on the board against Bishop Guilfoyle on Tuesday, but Bishop Guilfoyle never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Marauders with a sharp 14-0 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Coltin Harbaugh looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central got a massive performance out of Wyatt Dilling, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Dilling has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Muthler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Central, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will take on Greater Johnstown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Dragons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they will challenge Penn Cambria at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
