Basketball Game Preview: River Bluff Gators vs. Irmo Yellow Jackets

The River Bluff Gators will square off against the Irmo Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Bluff will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

River Bluff is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since February 14, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged White Knoll out 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted against the Timberwolves since February 11, 2020.

Yasir Cromer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 19 on his way to 27 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Wilson, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

River Bluff was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Knoll only posted four assists.

Meanwhile, Irmo didn't have too much trouble with Lexington on Saturday as they won 60-44. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Wildcats are ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Irmo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for River Bluff, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

River Bluff strolled past Irmo in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 68-52. Does River Bluff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Irmo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
